Tunsten Darkthrop was born to Mordred Darkthrop, and they were great ancestors of Mel Darkthrop. Tunsten was married to Rayina, a human with the ability to shapeshift. Tunsten secretly learned to perform magic, though his father did not know this. Tunsten also knew of his father's plans to rule the world. He was determined to stop the prophecy, so he attacked his father and destroyed the tower, killing himself in the process. Tunsten wasn't aware, however, that Rayina was already pregnant when she fled, and that the family line did not die that night.
