The Thornkeep Mountain King resides in a cave to the North of Thornkeep, where he is staying during an argument with his wife, the Snow Queen, over the existence of fairies. The Mountain Kings insists that fairies insist as he has seen them with his own eyes, but the Snow Queen refuses to believe this. Their argument leads to dangerous and extreme weather in the area, as they have power over the elements, which causes the villagers of Thornkeep to concern for their own safety.

The Mountain King, although stubborn, is also wise and honest. It seems that he wants to be a good leader, but often finds it difficult to balance his personal and royal life.
