Shadwood Academy is a prestigious school of magic in the city of Veldarah on the Eastern Isle. Students at the Academy spend two years learning in their specific field. The first years are called novices, and after completing final exams called the Trials, they advance to Apprentice level. After this second year, the students must go out into the world and complete a deed of great bravery to become a full sword singer or sorcerer.

Rhen's Quest[]
In Rhen's Quest, it can be found at the northwest corner of the city, encircled in a wooden fence and landscaped with palm trees and a small pond. It's made of a white stone or plaster, and has a flat white roof. The windows have wooden shutters and the entrance seems to be paved with gravel.
Inside there are many classrooms, the headmaster's office, and two separate dormitories for sword singers and sorcerers. These can be found on the other side of the courtyard, which is called the Academy Green. It also has paths of the same type as the entrance and contains two ponds, one of them fed by a waterfall.

While at Shadwood, Rhen and Lars have the chance to learn a variety of spells. They can each choose five total, and every option has different effects and a different mana cost.
