Early life
Edit
When Mel was about 5 years old, her parents died and she was placed into an orphanage. After trying to escape many times, she eventually succeeded and became a street thief.
Trouble and flight to Thais
Edit
In Aveyond:The Lord of Twilight, Mel gets asked to steal an object from the deserted Darkthrop Mansion and bring it to her client before sunrise. It turns out to be an Orb which glows when she holds it. When Mel meets her client, a vampire named Gyendal, he tries to kidnap her, but she is rescued by Te'ijal, another vampire who happens to be Gyendal's sister. She helps Mel navigate the Shadow Woods to the route to the School of War and Magic in Thais, where she insists that Mel enroll.

Personality
Edit
Mel is a very stubborn girl who wants nothing to do with the Prophecy. She behaves like she should be an outcast due to her poverty, her evil bloodline, and eventually the discovery of her magic. She begrudgingly accepts friendships, but those who she accepts become her friends for life. She hates noble people, especially the snobby, proud, high-and-mighty kind. Therefore, she was very surprised when she found out who Edward really was. Despite this, she is still friends with him, even though she was reluctant to trust him at first, believing that he was like the other nobles - proud and uncaring for commoners. She comes to trust Edward later on as the game progresses.
She is also a person who usually being late for somethings, for example, in Lord of Twilight, she had always been put in detention by Prf.Gray because she always late for class.
Appearance
Edit
During Lord of Twilight through The Lost Orb, Mel retains the same style. Short, black, bobbed hair adorned with a yellow ribbon. She wears a green vest with a simple white shirt and black pants. In the final game, "The Darkthrop Prophecy", she becomes a mage with her uniform being a pale pink and white robe keeping her bobbed hair and orange ribbon. But before enrolling, she still wears her previous outfit.
Relationships
Edit
Gyendal Ravenfoot
Edit
In the first game Gyendal commissioned Mel to steal a 'precious heirloom'. However, as soon as he noticed Mel was a descendant from Darkthrop he tried to kidnap her. (This pretty much describes their relationship through the first two games.) In The Lost Orb, Gyendal tries to gain Mel's trust by disguising himself. His cover is blown, though, as for whatever may have happened between them. There are attractions points for Spook between them is demolished. In The Darkthrop Prophecy, Gyendal finally manages to kidnap Mel via darklings.
Te'ijal and Galahad
Edit
Mel first met Te'ijal when the "Lord of Twilight" Gyendal tried to take Mel back home with him to fulfill the orb. Mel then later on met Galahad when she returned to her apartment from defeating Gyendal's minions. Te'ijal and Galahad have been with Mel in almost every game except for the time when Te'ijal, Galahad and Gyendal got turned back into humans. In Darkthrop Prophecy, Galahad races across the land to find and rescue Mel and sacrifices his humanity to do it and becomes possessed by the demon as well as Mel and speaks of staying with Mel forever and protecting her from others who want her to become good again.
Edward Pendragon
Edit
In the beginning, Mel doesn't want anything to do with Edward and tries to avoid him, finding him a show off. However, he starts bugging her and tells her that he won't leave her alone until she becomes his friend. After a while, Mel finds out that Edward is a prince and states that they are no longer friends, but they slowly become friends once again, and by the third and fourth games Edward finds himself wanting to Marry her.Unfortunately, Lydia tricks him into marring her and Mel again wants nothing to do with him and runs away to a different Isle where she meets June and Yvette.
Stella
Edit
In the first game, Stella appears to have fallen from Naylith to the Ruins due to the fact that Gyendal ripped her wings off and surounded her with his minions, making her step back and fall.Edward takes an instant liking to her and Mel begins to think that they don't need nor want her so she goes home at first. Stella, however, thinks that she might also be a descendant of Mordred Darkthroph like Mel, but later remembers that she is a Naylithian Butterfly. Stella is very kind and sweet and tries to see the good in Mel, and everyone else.
Lydia Rupert
Edit
Please see the main article: Mel and Lydia's relationship
The Oracle
Edit
The Oracle is many times seen helping Mel in her Quest's but in the Darkthrop Prophecy she stops helping her because she is on the dark side and the Oracle can not help people on the Dark Side.
Ulf
Edit
Mel and her friends saved Ulf, and they have become friends.
June
Edit
At The Lost Orb, when Mel talking to the man at the tavern, June came in and ask to took her as an apprenticeship, Mel refuses because she has a business to do, that's mean when at the first, Mel feel that June is really annoying, but when June opened the door for Mel, they knew each other more. But all June want in Mel is the apprenticeship and June always want to keep Mel away from Spook and Edward, so maybe Mel can feel a little harsh on June.
Yvette
Edit
Like what everyone says about her, she has a strange sense of fun.
Nox and Uma Darkthrop
Edit
Little is known about them except that Nox wants Mel to become the Dark Ruler and Uma doesn't. But it is said that at the end, Uma and Nox are Mel's future twin daughters. I wonder why they weren't allowed to tell her that they were her future daughters and are there to help her succeed her dream, but the only problem is that Mel hasn't decided what her dream is yet, so mostly throughout Aveyond 6, Nox wanted Mel to fulfill the Darkthrop prophecy, but Uma wanted Mel to learn to love more and make peace happen more often.
Abilities
Edit
Mel has many Abilites during her four quests.
Basic Thief Abilities
Edit
Trip
Edit
Mel can "trip" the enemy. This is a useful skill that disables the enemy from attacking, although it doesn't work very effectively, and occasionally misses the enemy.
Steal
Edit
Mel can steal from the enemy while in battle. She is able to get moderate to large amounts of gold depending on the enemy. This skill, however, often misses and fails.
Chicken Dance
Edit
This skill is learned from a fellow student who hangs out in the tavern at Thais. He will teach Mel this skill for a fee of fifty coins. The Chicken Dance's main goal is to confuse the enemy, dulling said enemy's attacks by 50%. This, like the other skills, seldom works effectively and occasionally misses, albeit effective. (She can also learn this skill from the little chicks at the Moo Hatchery).
Magic
Edit
Her skills that she learns in Shadwood Academy are: Dark Magic, Storm Magic, and Healing (she can only learn 2 of them) When she has the Orb Staff equiped she can learn these skills from the 3 Wyvern Flames (there is a bonus skill she learns when the staff is fully upgraded): Dragon Bane, Shadow Wind, Unholy light and her bonus skill Fury
