Aia is the world in which almost all of the events in Aveyond happen.

Aia contains several continents and islands, most of which are inhabited. The number and arrangement of these landmasses varies drastically between games. It is unknown whether these changes are canon geological shifts or simply the result of simplifying a map's explorable areas for the games' purpose. The name "Aia" is not used until Aveyond 3.

Ahriman's Prophecy[]

Ahriman's Prophecy World Map-Background

Ahriman's Prophecy World Map

The world in Ahriman's Prophecy consists of one major landmass, referred to as the "Mainland", and several smaller surrounding landmasses and islands.

The Mainland includes the two central kingdoms Thais and Candar, each of which are ruled by monarchs. East of Thais is the smaller town of Devenshire, and beyond that lies the coast. East of Devenshire across a channel lies the island containing the village of Elden.

The northern areas of the Mainland appear to have arctic climates; this includes the village of Glenvale and the entrance to AnimalVille, as well as a few nearby islands. The northernmost island holds the entrance to Mysten Far.

South of Candar, a narrow isthmus connects to the desert and the swamp where Witchwood can be found.

West of Candar is a smaller landmass which holds the city of Tar Vedron as well as the Dragon settlement within the volcanoes.

Southeast of the Mainland lies another landmass which contains Venwood and Faiara.

Aveyond 1 World Map

In Aveyond 1: Rhen's Quest, much of the world map is done away with. Instead, the game takes place on the four Arishta Isles and a nearby smaller landmass containing only Thais. If it is assumed that this landmass represents the Mainland from Ahriman's Prophecy, then it would appear that the Arishta Isles far exceed the Mainland in size, and would be more aptly called continents or supercontinents. It is also possible that the map is simply not to scale.

To the east of the Arishta Isles is a small island containing the entrance to Mysten Far. This and Thais are the only two locations retained from Ahriman's Prophecy.

Aveyond 2[]

Aveyond 2 World Map

The world in Aveyond 2: Ean's Quest shows a much greater physical resemblance to the world depicted in Ahriman's Prophecy. The world map again features a Mainland with a few surrounding islands. The Arishta Isles do not appear in the game.

Aveyond 3[]

In Aveyond 3-1, Lord of Twilight, Mel is given a map of the world by Te'ijal. Despite most of the map not being able to be explored in this game, the entire map is available to see. Throughout the continuations of Orbs of Magic (which is the series that Lord of Twilight, Gates of Night, The Lost Orb, and The Darkthrop Prophecy belong to), however, you can find ways to access more and more kingdoms and islands.
