Wildwood Forest is a wild area in Rhen's Quest. It is located on the southern end of the Eastern Isle of the Arishta Isles. The Lookout Point above the Wildwood Forest is where Rhen's party first meets Elini.

Background

The Wildwood Forest is said to be a dangerous place from which few return alive. The forest is first entered from the north by navigating sheer cliffs and waterfalls. Just beyond the cliffs lies the Wildwood Tavern. There are two cottages in the area, each inhabited by a lone woodsman. One of these woodsmen is Devin Perry.

The Wildwood Forest connects Halloween Hills to the rest of the Eastern Isle, and vampire hunters seem to congregate at the tavern. As a result of excessive vampire hunting, the entrance to Halloween Hills is locked; the party must unlock it with a skull-shaped key to enter.

For years, the Wildwood Forest has been plagued by a creature known as the hind. The hind resembles a centaur in appearance, and her unearthly beauty turns any who see her to stone. She lives in a small cavern to the south of the Wildwood tavern, and uses a magic harp to lure passers-by closer. Many of her victims can be found near the entrance to her lair, frozen into statues.

Oddly, these werewolves appear more like Cerberus from Greek Mythology. They are large gray dogs with three heads.

Notable Locations

• Wildwood Tavern - Located just south of the bridge into the forest, this is a gathering place for hunters and adventurers.
• Hunter's Cabin - Found on the eastern side of Wildwood Forest. The hunter who lives here will give advice on how to defeat the hind.

• 

  The Hind's Cave

  The Hind's Cave - The hiding place of a creature that has been preying on men in the area.
• Quail Egg - This can be found high on the cliffs that overlook the Forest.
• Woodsman's Cabin - Upon speaking with the woodsman, Talia will recognize him as a very disconsolate Devin Pendragon. She will speak with him and then decide to leave the party to escort him to Aveyond.
